I just got the shocking news and I'm deeply saddened. Dennis was my chief legal counsel at Letterkenny and latter we worked together at Rock Island. Dennis was one of a kind! A great lawyer and a genuine human being who was quick with a laugh in any situation. Unlike many lawyers, Dennis was always ready to tackle new challenges and take-on the bureaucracy. We had great fun together rocking the ship and taking care of people in the process. Dennis knew how to have fun and we had many laughs together, on the job and socially. Dennis made the Army better and left a lasting positive impression with all he touched. I miss my friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jane. |

My deepest sympathies to Jane, Emily, and Liz. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Dennis was a great boss. We had many lively conversations about religion, politics, men and women. He was so interesting to talk to. He was a great guy. I'm glad he got the opportunity to write. He will be missed by all who knew him. |

Dennis was first my boss, then he became my mentor and my friend. He gave me a chance to become an Army lawyer, something I will always be grateful to him for. He taught me a lot, both on a professional and a personal level. Jane - you and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers. |

I knew Dennis from the Quad-Cities Christian Writers Conference. I always enjoyed his friendly manner and outgoing personality. I had just seen him a few weeks ago at the MidWest Writers event at Mojo's. It was a shock to hear of his passing.
Dennis will be greatly missed. To you who knew him best and loved him most, my deepest sympathy. I pray that wonderful memories will ease the pain of your loss.

Jane, my husband Bob and I met Dennis through Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts and shared a few good meals and bottles of wine with you and Dennis in Iowa City and Napa Valley a few years back. We just learned this morning of Dennis' passing and I wanted to let you know how sorry we are. We recently reconnected with him through Facebook and had talked of getting together for another dinner, but unfortunately never did. Dennis was a wonderful man and I will always remember his hearty laugh and love for a good bottle of wine. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
