Ronald J. Martin Monday, July 30, 1923 - Sunday, January 24, 2010

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2-5 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA. Masonic Lodge #24 will conduct a Masonic Service at 5:00 P.M. Services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA. The officiant will be Pastor Dan Schoepf. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Henry Bentley. Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA. Memorial donations may be made to Masonic Lodge #24, Rochester, IA in his memory.

Ronald James Martin, age 86, of Davenport, IA, died on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Ron was born July 30, 1923 to James and Gladys (Sterett) Martin in Atalissa, IA. He married Doris May Lenker on October 25, 1947 in Wilton, IA. Ron graduated from Atalissa High School in 1940. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. Ron retired from Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Company in 1985. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #24 AF & AM, Rochester, IA and the First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, IA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. For the last 25 years, Ron and Dori have wintered in Apache Junction, AZ.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Doris of Davenport, IA, his daughter Susan and her husband Scott Wearn of Winston-Salem, NC and his son Dennis and his wife Sigrun Martin of Silverton, CO, 5 grandchildren: Jason and Matt Martin, Alex, Caroline and Philip Wearn, 3 great grandchildren: Austin and Albrie Martin and Ella Martin, his sisters: Elaine Bland of Durant, IA and Dana and her husband Willard Bland of Urbandale, IA and his brother Jack and his wife Goldie Martin of Durant, IA and his sister-in-law Marjorie Martin of Camdenton, MO.

He was preceded in death by an infant son Alan Dale Martin, his sister Yvonne Martin and his brother Maurice Martin.
