Elmer L. Ball Saturday, November 26, 1927 - Sunday, March 07, 2010

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4-7 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, IA. Services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church. The officiant will be Rev. Joshua Reimche. Musical selections will be provided by organist Linda Timmsen and vocalist Henry Bentley. Serving as casket bearers will be David Murry, Dustin White, Terry Giese, Paul Murry, Matthew Giese, Travis Ball, Kevin McGill and Joshua Kellebrew. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rachel Murry, Alicia White, Cortney White and Hannah Kellebrew Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Elmer L. Ball, age 82, of Portland, OR formerly of Wilton, IA, died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at his home in Portland, OR. Elmer was born November 26, 1927 to Bernard and Alvina (Utesch) Ball in Scott County, IA. He married Lenora A. Hein on March 11, 1951 in Bennett, IA. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2004. Elmer retired from Case I.H. after more than 23 years of service. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Portland, OR and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, IA.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughters: Nancy and her husband Richard White of Muscatine, IA, Karen Ball of Henderson, CO, Lisa Kellebrew of Portland, OR and Barbara Ball of Portland, OR, his sons: Robert and his wife Nancy Ball of Colona, IL and Daniel Ball of Wilton, IA, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elnora Whitmer of Muscatine, IA and his brothers: Allan and his wife Katie Ball of Muscatine, IA and Richard and his wife Flo Ball of Norfolk, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his grandson Tyson Ball, his sisters Ruth Schwarz and Francis Ball and his brothers: Carl and Harvey Ball.
