Beatrice T. "Dolly" Lilienthal Thursday, March 30, 1922 - Friday, April 30, 2010

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 3-6 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, IA. Services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 11:30 A.M. at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, IA. The officiant will be Rev. Christian H. Meyer. Musical selections will be provided by organist Sue Voss and vocalist Henry Bentley. Serving as casket bearers will be Vonnie Dittmer, Tom Lilienthal, Vicki Meyer, Peggy Timm, and her grandsons: Scott Cole, Chad Meyer, Tony Timm and Andy Timm. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dolly's granddaughters Lynne Benton, Tara Daily, Kate Lilienthal, Alicia Gade and Abby Burke. Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery, Durant , IA. Memorial donations may be made to Durant Cemetery Association or the Durant Ambulance Service in her memory.

Beatrice T. Dolly Lilienthal, age 88, a resident of the Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, formerly of Durant, IA, died on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Dolly was born March 30, 1922 to Alfred and Agnes (Ruwe) Bockwoldt in Muscatine County, IA. Dolly graduated from the Durant High School in 1939. She married Lawrence E. Lilienthal on January 10, 1942 in Davenport, IA. Dolly and Lawrence farmed in Muscatine and Cedar Counties retiring in 1978. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross stitch. She was an excellent cook and baker. She and Lawrence enjoyed attending auctions, dancing and riding their bicycles.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Lawrence, a resident of Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, formerly of Durant, IA, her daughters: Vonnie and her husband Harvey Dittmer of Durant, Vicki and her husband Loren Meyer of Durant, Peggy and husband Richard Timm of Tipton and her son Tom and his wife Sally Lilienthal of Wilton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her sister Erna Lilienthal of West Liberty and her brother Bob and his wife Delorus Bockwoldt of Durant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughters: Megan Lilienthal and Dawn Dittmer.
