Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, IA. Interment will take place at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday at the Durant Cemetery, Durant, IA. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 11:30 A.M. at the Calvary Church 501 W. Bypass 61, Muscatine, IA. The officiant will be Pastor Dan Schoepf. Serving as casket bearers will be David Guyer, Will Norton, Caleb Norton, Jeff Voelkers, Brian Voelkers, Tim Voelkers, Adam Kappeler and Justin Warren. Memorial donations may be made to Jason Guyer Memorial Fund in his memory.

Jason A. Guyer, age 33, of Walcott, IA, died on Monday, May 10, 2010 in Davenport, IA. Jason was born August 29, 1976 to Larry and Linda (Kappeler) Guyer in Davenport, IA. He graduated from Durant High School in 1994 and St. Ambrose University in 1998. He married Katie L. Norton on August 27, 1999 in Muscatine, IA. He was a maintenance supervisor at Kraft Foods in Davenport, IA. He also raised Angus Cattle. He enjoyed playing poker but above all, his family and his children were the most important part of his life.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Katie Guyer of Walcott and their children: Audrey, Clayton and Emersyn Guyer all at home, his parents: Linda Guyer and Terry Ring of Durant and Larry and Diane Guyer of Durant, his brother David and Mandi Guyer of Bettendorf, his grandmother Phyllis Kappeler of Walcott, his mother and father-in-law Bill and Deb Norton of Tipton, grandparents Willie and Rachel Norton of Tipton and brothers and sisters-in-law: Will, Caleb and Hayley Norton and Andrea and Jeremy Putman and their family: Aubrey, Landyn and Bryer Putman.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Audrey and Harry Guyer, William Kappeler Jr. and Willie and Velma Petersen.
