Elfreda A. Meinsinger Saturday, June 07, 1919 - Saturday, May 15, 2010

A Celbration of Life social will be held June 5th, for Elfreda's family and friends, hosted by her daughter Louise Amanda Duncan and friend Carla Rae Thurston. This event will be held at the Wilton Senior Community Center, 104 East 4th St. between 1:00pm to 4:00 pm. Refreshments will be served. Private family graveside services were held on May 18, 2010 at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA.

Elfreda Elizabeth Meisinger 90, passed away, Saturday May 15, 2010 at All American Care Center, Muscatine. Elfreda was born on June 7, 1919 in Walcott, IA the daughter of Henry and Margaretha (Wellendorf-Arp) Behrens. Elfreda's father passed away March 22, 1963 and her mother June 4, 1975. Elfreda married David Hunter Bowers on August 12, 1938 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters: Louise Amanda and Saphronia (Sophie) Cecelia. David passed away on May 25, 1961 and Saphronia passed away on February 9, 2002. Elfreda later married Eugene Albert Meisinger on March 6, 1964 at the United Methodist Church, in Wilton. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1992.

Elfreda is survived by her daughter Louise Duncan of Canada and her children: Michael Wayne (wife Diane) of Arizona, Marvin Jay of California, and Alexandra Louise (husband Dean) of Qualicum Beach, BC Canada and Saphronias son Thomas Duane of Moscow, IA. She is also survived by Eugenes children: Kenneth of Wilton, IA and Sally of Muscatine, her sister Irma Zinger of Wilton, IA and her brothers: Wendlyn, Lester, Rolo, and Walter.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her daughter, a grandson Daniel on May 25, 1961, her sisters Anola, Leona and Virginia and her brothers: Norman and Donald.
