Leila F. Ovesen Wednesday, August 15, 1923 - Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4-7 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, IA. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, IA. Services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, IA. The officiant will be Rev. Joshua Reimche. Serving as casket bearers will be Wayne Thede, Joe Vastine, Gary Wiese, John Caes, Jeff Hoffman and Keith Suhr. Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery, Durant , IA. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Durant Ambulance Service in her memory.

Leila F. Ovesen, age 86, of Durant, IA, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport, IA. Leila was born August 15, 1923 to Elmer and Meta (Lilienthal) Otto in Stockton, IA. Leila graduated from Durant High School in 1941. She married Hilbert E. Ovesen on September 4, 1943 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2007. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, IA and the Scott County Farm Bureau. She loved working on the farm, gardening and flowers, especially roses.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Wayne Ovesen and Lucy Meyer of Durant, IA, her granddaughters: Lori Gamble of Walcott, IA and Susan and her husband Brad Suhr of Davenport, IA, 3 great grandchildren and her brother-in-law Lyle Sissel of Muscatine, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister Eloise Sissel.
